Welcome Baby Hudson

This family was INCREDIBLE to work with! I have never seen four brothers get along and behave so well (not even my husband and his three grown brothers!) Honestly, have you ever seen a more beautiful family? I felt so honored to be able to capture this sweet time of the arrival of Baby Hudson. Thank you Andrea for sharing your family with me! Congratulations!





*For those of you who may have been following this post for the last two days, I have decided to abandon the slideshow altogether until the kinks are worked out. So here are my favorites, I know there are a LOT!

EBT Continued: Ballerina Girl

Truth have it, I have ALWAYS wanted to be a dancer! I envy the way dancers can express themselves through their bodies. I found myself many times just standing there in awe watching the girls perform and then remember, "Oh yeah! I am here to take pictures!" Thank you girls, for sharing your beautiful talent with me!

This past weekend I had the opportunity to shoot alongside Wade at the EBT, Music Can Dance Workshop. What a learning experience! Thanks Wade for letting me tag along!

This photo reminds me of my days with film. I started cussing because my negatives had dust on them and then I realized that the window he is looking through is dusty....and that I am now shooting in digital! :)

Photo Booth or Kissing Booth?

So, I am totally posting these pictures without ANYONE's permission in the photos. If you are in a photo and don't want to be posted on my blog, I am happy to remove them. Playing With My Homemade Photo Booth

I was asked to be the photographer for a church dance and instead of cheesy dance pictures, I thought it would be fun to do a Photo Booth. The dance is Saturday so I thought I had better work out the kinks before hand and test it out on my family. It was like herding butterflies, but the results were fun non the less.

Thank You Wade!

I had my first sit down mentoring session with Seattle photographer, Wade Heninger. Wade is a wealth of knowledge and I am so excited for the opportunity to glean all I can from him. I can't wait to play with all I have learned! I got a crash course on many different lighting styles and affects. Here is a sample of my evening shoot at Wade's houses, with my daughter and two of his kids (Sarah is certain no one will recognize her in "disguise).

Daily Happenings

I have been playing with my new gear and was happy to have some willing participants to take photos of. The first is of my nephew and the second is a typical scene at my house. Anytime you open ANY door, whether it be the fridge, bathroom, or dishwasher, Leah is the first through it.

Flower

I am in the process of replacing and learning new equipment. It is some exciting times for me right now and I am looking forward to seeing my knowledge and little business grow. I am currently without a camera and going into withdrawals, but my wait will be worth it when my new baby arrives next Monday! In the mean time I will keep striving to improve the quality of my work and just play with the images I have. I would also love to hear ANYTHING from ANYONE who stumbles upon my lonely blog. Ciao.

The Reason for the Season

Every year our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) holds a Creche exhibit in our church house. This event has grown immensely and was even voted the Seattle Times Top 10 Things to Do During the Holiday Season. Over 400 Nativities are displayed depicting the birth of Christ. This year my sister, her husband and baby boy were asked participate in the live Nativity. I snapped this picture while there and kind of liked the results.
